Screws and Staples

Screws and Staples

A little boys dream,

Ripped away in the blink of an eye.

Then the dreams stop.

Life happens.

We stop dreaming.

We forget that we can have as many dreams as we want.

We are infinite,

So we get to have infinite dreams.

If we are breathing,

We can have dreams.

I don’t want to die with the music still inside of me.

Screws and staples.

Playing football for the Minnesota Vikings was my dream.

I was consumed by this dream.

Morning and night.

I saw it in my mind.

I was on the path.

Until in a heartbeat it was snatched away.

280 pounds fell on the outside of my knee.

Immense pain.

Passed out.

Dream over.

Major surgery.

Screws and staples hold my knee together now.

It’s a constant reminder of a dream dashed.

But that’s in the past.

Don’t get stuck in the past.

It’s done.

Gone.

Kaput.

It’s now.

Eternal.

Keep dreaming.

Keep growing.

Keep expanding.

Live life fully alive.

Who says we have to stop dreaming when we get old?

No dreams.

No aliveness.

I dream of being revolutionary now.

I dream of world peace.

I dream of creating art.

I dream of making music.

I dream of a world of non-violence.

I dream of a world that we all see each other as God expressing.

One breath.

One mind.

One consciousness.

One world.

One God.

I have changed.

My dreams have changed.

Never stop dreaming.

We get this one shot.

This one shot at this precious life.

We get more than one dream in this lifetime.

Live it.

Be it.

Be happy.

Have fun.

May all of your dreams come true.

Enjoy the hell out of the journey.

I envision a world where we treat each other as equally priceless where everyone gets to express their own unique creative energy, being outstanding, not being shamed for being true to our courageous soul bringing our passion and deep inner peace to the world.
